PICNICS

On March 2, 2003, the club had a pot luck picnic in beautiful
Rotary Park by the lake.

It was a little on the cool side (for Lake Havasu City) as we
arrived at the park and that gave a lot of our members a chance to wear their
new club jackets.
After some visiting it was time to set the food up. There was
still a lot of talking going on in line as the members waited their turn to dish
up some of the great dishes that were there.

The talking continued as we enjoyed our meal together and then
it was time for dessert.

We had a 50/50 drawing, then relaxed and talked for awhile
before we headed for home. All in all, a wonderful day spent in the park.

The photos below were taken at another picnic but this one was
at London Bridge Beach on the island in May of 2006. Will & Darryl were the
cooks this time and they were having fun cooking up lots of burgers and dogs and
making as much smoke as possible.

Then it was time to stop socializing and get down to setting up
the table with the condiments and other home made goodies.

After eating it was time to start socializing and digesting the
piles of food we had just consumed. It was also a good time to have some car
related conversations.

Those people too full to sit and needing to take a walk had a
lot of activity in the channel to watch and it wasn't long until a big boat with
a wild flame job came cruising by.

The following pictures were taken at another pot-luck picnic we had in
Rotary Park on May 10, 2008. This time there were no jackets being worn as the
weather at this time of year is just about perfect for us desert rats. First job
at hand was setting up our Ramadas and Jonny and Jan arrived early and were
still hard at it when the photographer arrived.

Our cooks, Dearyl and Glenn, were also there early to get the BBQ fired up
and they stayed busy preparing tri-tips for us. Soon as we heard "Food's
Ready", a line was formed and food was served to those who could serve
themselves.

Next it was time to sit and eat and the trees in our park were a favorite
place to find some shade after the tables under the Ramada filled up.
